Tonight my focus ingredient was the oh-so-tasty shiitake mushroom. Any time you make a stir fry dish, I suggest picking one focus ingredient and building on that. Chances are, any leftover ingredients can be easily integrated into the following days' meals.
Ingredients:
- brown rice
- vegetable oil
- red pepper
- sweet yellow onion
- carrots
- shiitake mushrooms
- canned or fresh bean sprouts
- fresh Chinese snow peas
- fresh garlic, chopped
- fresh ginger, grated
- salt & pepper
- chili flakes
- San-J Wheat-Free Tamari Soy Sauce
- avocado
- start rice, prep other ingredients
- heat oil in a wok or large frying pan, add carrots & saute for a couple minutes
- add red pepper and onion, salt & pepper, and chili flakes. saute for about 5 more minutes, depending on the size of your vegetables
- add sliced mushrooms, garlic, ginger, and Tamari sauce. keep stirring for a couple more minutes.
- add snow peas, stir for few more minutes, then add bean sprouts for the last minute.
- serve over brown rice with fresh avocado
Taste the rainbow of flavor.
